Fifty Tonne Export Order Bound for Middle Eastern Oil Fields |
|
Recognised as a prominent U.K chemical manufacturer, R.P. Adam Ltd has a longstanding track record in exporting their products to the Middle East for over 35 years. The company announced last week that a single fifty tonne order had left its Selkirk manufacturing base bound for Iraq. The order comprised of four 40 foot containers of Protoklenz GT - a speciality gas turbine compressor cleaner whose final destination is a major Baghdad power station.
Managing Director Robin Leith said: "This is a significant single order for the company and is the first of what we hope will be on-going business for that customer." The 250 205 litre drums will go via Jordan and will be used to clean gas turbines in the Iraqi capital's power station. "We have a specialist agent for this type of product who works in the oil field industries. Over the past five years or so, the business with this speciality distributor has been growing significantly, and all credit to them, this initial deal could really evolve into significant niche market business."
Martin Carroll the company's Technical Director added: "This order is highly significant during the current recession. Everybody in this industry is aware that UK market is under severe pressure, and it's always good to balance our core UK business with new export activity. Mr Leith continues: "At a time when a lot of businesses in the U.K and the Scottish Borders are really struggling, it's really encouraging to us and motivational to our workforce to receive an order like this and ensure the production lines are kept busy."
