From the days when Robert Purves Adam set up shop to manufacture a simple range of cleaning and bleaching agents for the local textile industry in 1891, to the present day, we have remained an independent family-owned company with manufacture at the heart of the business.

At our purpose-built 65,000 sq ft Selkirk base we manufacture and stock a core range of over 150 Arpal product lines, developed in our on-site laboratory. In addition there are another 400 lines that are tailor-made to meet specific customer needs and niche market sectors. With a 'can do' attitude at the core of the business ethos and a passion for how “blue-box” products perform, we create high quality products in pack sizes ranging from 750mls to 1000 litre IBC’s.

We have the formulating experience to create bespoke “own-label” product ranges tailored to specific customer requirements also. Indeed, although "blue box" is the hero brand, we manufacture over 200 "white box" lines under own label.
