E-Learning

RP Adam Ltd (Arpal Group) announces today that their custom built e-learning chemical safety training course, launched in January 2016, has now become the central pillar within their training offering and has seen a huge uptake of our clients’ staff taking part in the online course.

When deciding to choose to use commercial grade cleaning chemicals from the Arpal Group, new and existing customers need to be assured that they are dealing with a reputable cleaning chemical supplier who values customer’s safety as its primary concern.

So back in late 2015, to assist our customers comply with their COSHH responsibilities we started to build a free-to-use online Chemical Safety Course. The e-Learning module was developed with the aim of ensuring key chemical safety messages were communicated clearly and consistently so that our consumers retained key knowledge so that our cleaning detergents were used as safely and as effectively as possible. The resulting 30-minute interactive course takes participants through the necessary steps to understand all key aspects of using chemicals safely in the workplace.

The course has been established to help improve the quality of the company’s safety training, standardise key messages and significantly cut training delivery costs, by being far more flexible than organising group training sessions. We all know how much time and resource COSHH safety training sessions can take up, so we now offer all our customers and distributor customers an alternative way to access chemical safety training. The benefit of this is that it allows our field training staff to focus on more practical training activities, like cleaning tips and trouble shooting. A key advantage of e-Learning is that individuals can complete the course in their own time or as individuals rather than through pre-organised group sessions.

We are delighted to say that we have had nearly 10,000 customer trainees complete the course and the average monthly uptake is growing all the time. But they point to note is that our pre-planned service calls and face-to face product application training sessions have not diminished, indeed they have increased too, which effectively means that we are delivering more training than ever before.

One longstanding care home customer recently commented, “Initially I was a bit reluctant to switch over to online training as we had always done all our sessions with an external trainer in a face to face setting. After trying their e-learning programme I am a true convert. RP Adam has done a brilliant job on identifying and reacting to its customer’s training needs.”

Significantly, the e-learning programme has also released some 8,000 RP Adam man-hours which have been redeployed to other customer service activities. It is important to note that pre-planned service calls and face-to face product application training sessions have not diminished - indeed they have increased too, which effectively means that we are delivering more training than ever before.

Max Adam, Sales & Marketing Director says, “E-Learning is just one part of our overall digital service platform, which has now woven itself into the normal day to day activities of our business. With the use of RFID equipment asset tagging, communicating internally through an enterprise social network and our unique Arpal Service App, we continue to embrace digital technologies to improve the consistency and standards of our renowned service offering. We have some exciting plans afoot to develop our stock control system for larger nationals, and I am delighted at the way that our staff and customers have responded so positively to our digital revolution”.
