Bio DDC

Concentrated drain dosing degreaser concentrate

Bio DDC 20lt

A concentrated blend of natural micro-organisms and biodegradable surfactants designed to digest fats, grease and organic matter in an environmentally sensitive way. It is suitable for commercial kitchen drains and fat/grease traps, and beneficial for sites with their own waste treatment processes or septic tank. When dosed into the drain, the ‘friendly’ bacteria create enzymes to accelerate the natural degradation process, turning potentially drain blocking fats into harmless simple sugars, carbon dioxide and water.

• Automatically dosed into the drain or grease trap via the RP Adam free-on-loan wall mounted drain dosing unit which is pre-programmed to operate at a time when the site is less active (generally at night).

• This ‘rest’ period allows the greatest interval for the product to digest organic matter, because other cleaning and disinfection chemicals used during an active shift can inhibit the effectiveness of biological products.

• It is recommended that at the end of the day/shift, sinks and drains are flushed with clean water to remove other chemical residues before the product is used.

• A daily dose rate of 150 - 200mls is sufficient to maintain drains and grease traps, yielding 100 days treatment from a 20lt container.

• The biological action of micro-organisms and enzymes is reduced by the presence of strong acids and alkalis and can be stopped by the over use of disinfecting agents, especially chlorine bleach.

• It is understood that the use of these chemicals may be necessary to maintain hygiene standards. It is therefore recommended that at the end of the cleaning operation (normally at the end of the day/shift) that the sinks or drains are flushed with clean water to wash away chemical residues before the product is auto-dosed.

Not classified as hazardous, however we advise that normal cleaning safety practices are adopted. Wear rubber gloves when handling and avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention if irritation persists.

COSHH STATEMENT

COSHH is a law that requires all employers to take steps to control substances (chemicals) that may cause harm to employees, contractors and visitors to the workplace. Every work environment will be different in terms of the hazardous chemicals that are present, and how these are used, and individual assessments may be necessary to consider how chemicals can be handled and stored safely, in addition to ensuring that appropriate PPE and training is provided for employees. Product MSDS and Product Guidance Sheets are intended to help when carrying out a COSHH assessment, however if further advice is needed with regard to specific issues in your work environment we are happy to provide advice.
